(Although I didn't have Vista back when it was released), I have only good memories of Windows Vista. Vista was/is my most favourite version. I still have two plastic-box Retail versions: Premium and Basic, the latter only not having Aero. Oh, Vista, where art thou?😪

My brother and I received an Atari 2600 for Christmas not long after they were released. As he was 10 years older than me, I was primarily the one who used it the most. I enjoyed it for years and had an extensive game collection. But as it became less and less popular and the Nintendo NES came on the scene, it started to collect dust. My brother asked if he could have it since I wasn’t using it. I reluctantly let him take it and didn’t think much more about it. About a year later I found out that he had sold it in a yard sale. There’s a small part of me, that still harbors a little resentment towards him for that. I would gladly have given him money to get it back had he asked me if I wanted it. Such great times and memories. Really considering picking one of these systems up for nostalgia purposes.

Directory Opus instead of Workbench kills it for me. It just kills the original concept of AmigaOS for icons and files, and replaces it with the bland list-based interpretation every OS does today. The "graphical" in GUI does not stand for lists, otherwise it would be "LUI." Being "graphical" is not just decoration, a concept that AmogaOS and Apple's System5-9 delivered well. It's a pity this understanding has been completely lost in time, to the point where Amiga enthusiasts celebrate Directory Opus taking over windows and icons in AmigaOS, instead of being rightfully appalled by it.

screen savers serve a puourpes today as it does some kind of memory reboot my screen would freeze but i set a screen saver and no more freeze it only needs to actavate for a few sec's evey few hours but its better then a force powerdown

My dad had an Amiga 4000, when he left he left it there and it became mine and I remember playing so many of his games on it. Then I came home one afternoon from school and it was gone..... My mum swapped it for a Megadrive and I still haven't forgiven here lol.

ello, I wonder where the Amiga has gone these days, I see that we are doing a whole housecleaning, Archos, Morph os, Samsung Amiga, and nothing comes out, I see that the CEO of Commodore is getting paid by IBM, the company is sinking, in the end look for more, the Amiga has become the PC, PCs are basically Amigas. With all this soup of who owns who, Microsoft swallows it all, PCs are AMIGAs

A very fast FPGA card in the computer, a lot of memory is also available and then the A1200 is operated on a 13" CRT. The Internet is sometimes a haven of joy.

Great video. Yes I can emulate games on the PC but the point of this is to have a cool little emulation box that looks like the original Amiga. I've also never had a Raspberry Pi. So I might get one. I just never have the time to play/

I can't remember the name of that chat tool but I have found memories of it. It allowed you to overlay a chat on a web browser and you could select your own transparent GIFs as your avatar. The main feature though is someone could upload a larger GIF file like the Mystery Van or a magic carpet that would serve as a chat vehicle. If anyone placed their avatar on your vehicle you controlled what website their browser was looking at so it was a cool way to give people a tour of your favorite websites. I truly missed the day when the internet was something that was earned.

I had one shortly after launch. Actually bought the Amiga 600 at first after having an Atari STe for few years. Realised the Amiga 600 was not much of an upgrade to that instantly and also missed the numeric pad. So back to Dixons as it was then and returned the 600 and begged my mother to pay extra for 1200. It was a nice machine but not enough software pushed it. Ended up selling to a mate of mine who played championship manager on it exclusively! Wish I’d kept having seen all the homebrew support it ended up with

Windows 2000 had remarkable compatibility with DOS/Win 9X games. I was shocked. A friend kept telling me it worked fine with games. Because it was based on Windows NT, I did not believe him. So I installed it on one of my machines and it ran every game I hit it with. It was Lean and very nice to game on. I was wrong, my friend was right. Microsoft blew it by not marketing it as an OS with vast compatibility with games.

Vista 32bit version killed HDD's and didn't like Memory Upgrades. Couldn't see over 12G of RAM. 64Bit Version was better, and could see more than 12G's of RAM. I was glad to get rid of it for Win7

why the distracting music noise ?

Bad Dog! is one of my favorite After Dark screensavers along with the 3D Maze when you change the walls, floor and ceiling to look more psychedelic. I wish Berkeley Systems would release a new version of the entire After Dark collection to run on Win10 & 11 as a single install and I would pay $100 for a reissue CD/DVD or download. I was able to get a few running on Win10 under 95 mode but it's not the same, and not all of them will even run unless you change or modify some of the files which is a pain in the ass. Currently Berkeley Systems makes software for the casino and gaming industry last time I checked. I thought about finding an old Pentium 133 Win 95 pc or running a dual boot system. Great video and very entertaining.

I used to have a GeoCities website about Super Soakers... I was so proud of that thing. Managed to get it listed on Yahoo! back when you had to email them and plead your case for why you should have to be listed. At one point it was the most-visited super soaker oriented website... out of maybe 20 or so? haha

Vista was one of the best Windows Versions made with Service Pack 2. It has set so many great standards for Windows. User Account Control was very good for security, the Aero was just amazingly beautiful (it is till today) and it had instant Search.

wow great vid and the memories flood bk, kid at school used to get all the latest games and charge an extra disk per disk he copied, later found cash converters in mid 90's where the had to sell off cetain disks as blanks for bout 20p each - routing through ah disk 2 of 2, disk 1. great days...thanks for the vid :)
